On Monday 12th December the children can come to school in Christmas jumpers. They will be having a visit from Father Christmas (via Zoom), Christmas lunch and the Christmas Fayre after school. There will be a raffle, tombola, cake sale, lots of stalls and you will be able to purchase the item that your child has made. The children have come home today with a plate for the Christmas bake off, further details are in the Christmas bake off letter below.
A huge thank you for all the returned raison boxes, you donated an amazing £241.03.
The Spring term after school clubs letter for Year 1 and 2 is attached to this mailing. Year R clubs will run in the Summer term.
Reminder that we finish at 2:15pm on Friday 16th December for Christmas break.
A child has been knocked over by a child on a scooter today. Could we please remind you that Scooters and bikes are not to be ridden on school grounds.
The children in Year R loved performing their Christmas plays to you. The singing, signing and acting was fantastic! We’re sure that you agree! The children have also been making lots of Christmas craft. We have continued our Toys History topic and the children enjoyed the story Dogger. We have been looking at lots of toys from the past and comparing them to our own.
The children in Year 1 have been amazing in their Christmas performances this week! They have been superstars and we are so proud of them all. In between Christmas plays and dress rehearsals we have been looking at 3d shapes in maths. The children are beginning to recognise and name 3d shapes and even did some problem solving for the Funky Camel who was looking to build a new house out of 3d shapes. We decided cylinders stacked on their side may not be the most stable house to live in. We are looking forward to a very exciting fun filled week next week!
This week Year 2 performed their ‘Santa’s on Strike’ Christmas Play and were amazing. We are very proud of how hard they worked to learn their lines and all the songs and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. In between our performances we have been busy making wood slice Christmas decorations and reindeer hot chocolate cones to sell at the Christmas fair. All proceeds will go towards buying new resources for year 2 so we will be very grateful for any purchases you are able to make. Children’s personalised Christmas decorations are £1.50 and the reindeer hot chocolate cones are £1.

General News and Information:
If your child does not eat certain foods due to religion reasons or personal preference, please ensure they know what lunch option they are choosing every day before they come in to book it on the whiteboard. There have been a few occasions when children have inadvertently selected the wrong meal choice. Children with allergies are identified by wearing a different coloured wrist band and have their meals cooked according to their special menu.
HC3S have a parent portal where they can register children needing special allergy school dinner menus directly. This will give parents more control and direct contact with the catering team. You will then need to make an application online for your child to have a special menu and the school will be notified automatically. If you need to apply for a special menu, please see the information by clicking on: https://specialdiets.hants.gov.uk/
If your child has a change or existing or new medical condition, please inform us by completing the form which is now available on our website: New or Change to Existing Medical Condition Form
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk
