The Year R children have enjoyed sharing their home challenges this week. We have loved looking at all the different ways the children have recorded their work. Prizes have been awarded to the children who grew the tallest sunflower in each class. The children have had their last fire of the term and enjoyed making ‘dippy doodars’.
This week the Year 1 children have been looking at another Julia Donaldson story called Sugarlump and the unicorn. The children have re-told the story through role play, looked at rhyming words within the story and have also thought of their own wishes for the unicorn to grant them. In maths the children have been partitioning number into tens and ones using equipment and part part wholes. The children also have enjoyed a Samba band visiting the school. They all had opportunities to join in and it was a fantastic experience. The word of the week is digit.
This week Year 2 went on a trip to Southbourne Beach. We had a fantastic time and the adults were very proud of how well the children behaved and interacted with each other. The children then made postcards about their trip. We also had a visit from an AfroSamba band which was very exciting. The children enjoyed listening to the music and helped the band create new songs.
