Mailing for 15th July 2022
Letters Home (https://www.hwis.hants.sch.uk/letters-home/):
Another hot week for us all with temperatures continuing to rise! With the forecast temperatures soaring on Monday and Tuesday, we would like the children to come to school dressed in their PE kits. We will be limiting the time the children spend outside but please do ensure they have sun cream on, have hats and have their water bottles. We will continue to refill these throughout the day. If we receive any further guidance, we will let you know as soon as possible.
We have a lot of lost property that is unnamed, this will be out on tables at the bottom of the path leading to the office on Monday and Tuesday next week after school, if you are missing any items please come and have a look. Any unclaimed items will be disposed of at the end of the week.

Last week of term letter
The Year R children have enjoyed visiting their new classrooms and meeting their teachers. The children loved watching the Year two leavers performance and listening to them sing. The children have drawn the updated version of the ‘This Is Me’ picture and were amazed at how much their drawing had changed since September.
This week the Year 1 children have been using number lines in maths to work out missing number problems- we have been very impressed with their understanding. In English the children had to opportunity to free write based on anything they knew about Julia Donaldson stories. They were fantastic. The children ended the week meeting their new class teachers and they have been very excited about their new classrooms.
It’s been another busy week in Year 2. On Wednesday and Thursday, we performed our Leaver’s Assembly to the whole school then our families. The children were nervous but also very excited and they did an amazing job. After our Leaver’s Assembly we got to enjoy a special celebration cake that our kitchen staff had kindly made for us. This week the children have also been doing some printing, marbling, sketching and collaging as they are making a seaside themed piece of artwork to bring home next week. Today the children spent the morning at the junior school in their new classes. We hope they all had a great time.
