We would like to say a huge well done to our amazing choir for their two performances over the last two weeks. They started off the Christmas season by performing at the opening of the Christmas Market at the Portsmouth Arms and their second event was singing at Oak Lodge Care Home. They were a real credit to the school and have already been asked to perform again at Oak Lodge in the summer. If your child (Year 1 and 2 only) would like to be part of the choir we meet on a Wednesday after school until 4.15pm a letter for next terms clubs was sent out in the mailing last week. Clubs are offered to Year R in the summer term.
Thank you for all your continued support this term. We hope you have a lovely break and see you back on Tuesday 3rd January 2023. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
In Year R what a wonderful busy week we have had to finish up our first whole term. The children have had so much fun this week wearing their Christmas jumpers, playing games at our Year group party and best of all our Zoom visit from a very special person! We have had so much fun and excitement but the children are certainly ready to enjoy their Christmas holidays. We have noticed that some children are still finding it tricky to do up their coats independently, so we have set them a holiday challenge to come back in January to be able to do their coats up all by themselves, they may even earn a sticker if they can show us! You will find our next half terms ‘words of the week’ and ‘Tell Me about it’ focus in your child’s orange book. We would like to say a big well done to your children for all the amazing things they have achieved this term and a thank you to all parents for their continued support. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year!
The children in Year 1 have had a lovely last week of term and have thoroughly enjoyed having a visit from Santa, having Christmas lunch and making incredible Christmas crafts. We have had a fun filled week and we wish you a fun filled Christmas break. See you in the new year!
We’ve had a busy, fun-filled final week in Year 2. The children have enjoyed their Christmas crafts and activities, as well as our Zoom visit from Santa, our Christmas party and our charter treats. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you in 2023!

General News and Information:
If your child does not eat certain foods due to religion reasons or personal preference, please ensure they know what lunch option they are choosing every day before they come in to book it on the whiteboard. There have been a few occasions when children have inadvertently selected the wrong meal choice. Children with allergies are identified by wearing a different coloured wrist band and have their meals cooked according to their special menu.
HC3S have a parent portal where they can register children needing special allergy school dinner menus directly. This will give parents more control and direct contact with the catering team. You will then need to make an application online for your child to have a special menu and the school will be notified automatically. If you need to apply for a special menu, please see the information by clicking on: https://specialdiets.hants.gov.uk/
If your child has a change or existing or new medical condition, please inform us by completing the form which is now available on our website: New or Change to Existing Medical Condition Form
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk
