Year R have enjoyed playing in the outside area this week and are looking forward to opening up the mud kitchen to the children next week. We would like to say a big thank you to Quinn London for their kind donation of materials and labour to ensure the mud kitchen was finished. We have now finished Talk Books this year, thank you so much for taking the time to complete these with your children they have loved sharing them with us.
Year 1 have all been down to the fire this week and has an amazing time making and cooking our kebabs. They made a lovely sizzling sound as they cooked on the fire. In maths we have been learning to recognise coins and notes. The children have used the colour and size of the coins to help them. We finished our science long study this week and have observed different tress throughout all of the seasons. Ask your children to tell you what changed they have noticed. We are looking forward to our last two weeks at school and have lots of exciting things planned.
Year 2 had a great day out at the beach this week. We had lots of fun playing in the sand and making sandcastles. We only had a sprinkle of rain but enjoyed warm sunshine for the majority of the day. Year 2 also had two visits to Hatch Warren Junior School. The first visit was to play on the circle playground and the second visit was to play on the woodland trail and the play equipment. The children really enjoyed their time there and are looking forward to more visits next week. Year 2 have also been working hard to put together their leavers assembly. They were very excited to see that the stage was up ready for them this week! We have sent home the children’s individual lines and would be grateful if you could help your child learn their lines and practise saying them clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you next Wednesday.

General Reminders:
General News and Information:
If your child does not eat certain foods due to religion reasons or personal preference, please ensure they know what lunch option they are choosing every day before they come in to book it on the whiteboard. There have been a few occasions when children have inadvertently selected the wrong meal choice. Children with allergies are identified by wearing a different coloured wrist band and have their meals cooked according to their special menu.
HC3S have a parent portal where they can register children needing special allergy school dinner menus directly. This will give parents more control and direct contact with the catering team. You will then need to make an application online for your child to have a special menu and the school will be notified automatically. If you need to apply for a special menu, please see the information by clicking on: https://specialdiets.hants.gov.uk/
If your child has a change or existing or new medical condition, please inform us by completing the form which is now available on our website: New or Change to Existing Medical Condition Form
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk
