Police
We have contact with the local police constable for the area together with the community safety office and community wardens. All of these people visit the school during the term and also patrol the school premises during out of hours and the school holidays.
The School Health Service
Each term the Headteacher meets with the school nurse to discuss any medical concerns about any child. Which children are discussed is determined by previous medical history or a request from parents (via the school office) or school. All children who arrive from out of area are discussed. Occasionally these discussions result in the doctor or nurse contacting you to arrange to examine your child. You will always be invited to be present. The object of the service is to ensure, as far as possible, that every child remains fit and well to benefit from his or her education, and to enjoy life to the full. It is part of the National Health Service and if anything is found which calls for treatment, this will be arranged through your family doctor.

Supporting the Community and Fundraising
As well as continually seeking ways in which the community can support us, we are also looking for ways in which we can support the local, wider and global communities. We are also developing community links through the wider work of the school and the children’s school council. If you have any other suggestions about how we can work more closely with communities, or are a community looking to work with us, we would love to hear from you. Please email us at parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk
