Mailing for 8th January 2021
WOW – What a week… It has certainly not been the return to school for the Spring term that we had expected!! Thank you all so much for being so understanding and supportive at this continued tricky and uncertain time. We are conscious that we have been sending a lot of texts and emails over the course of the week and hope that you have been able to keep up with everything.
Following the short notice announcement on Monday, we had to put into action our plan with incredible speed. We are desperately sad that we cannot have all the children back in school. It is a very strange place to be with so few children in. Those that are in have adjusted to the changes well and are completing the same learning as the children who are learning remotely at home.
As a staff, we are continuing to learn to adapt our teaching methods to enable us to support you delivering learning at home. This is an evolving skill for us and you too. We are hoping that the ‘Zoom’ lessons and those delivered through Class Dojo are enabling your children to learn as best they can. As so many children are not in school, we ask that your child joins a ‘Zoom’ meeting each week so that we can check in with them and they can also see their friends. We will make contact with families if we do not see them. Please do not put too much pressure on yourselves delivering the learning, particularly if you have more than one child to do this with. It is also important to maintain the balance in these tricky time of learning and having fun as a family.
If you are a key worker or your child comes under the vulnerable category and you HAVE NOT completed the form OR YOUR NEEDS HAVE CHANGED regarding attendance for your child, please click the link to send the information to us so we can arrange a place in school should you require it:
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via Parent.Mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk.
