Mailing for Week of 6th November 2020
The children had an amazing time yesterday being outdoors. There were lots of different activities ongoing, including fire lighting. We are looking forward to our other outdoor learning days later in the year.
The main newsletter this week has some dates linked to Christmas events. Please take a note of the dates coming up. Due to the current situation, sadly we are unable to hold all of the usual events and activities that we normally would at Christmas time.
Further to the letter sent 3rd November, to develop the children’s core strength, the Year 1 and 2 children will access the play equipment during the day on a week by week rota. This will allow time for it to be cleaned between ‘bubble’ uses. They should not use it before/after school.
Year R – The children have been learning to light fires this week and have been introduced to The Big Build and Fab Funky Friday – why don’t you ask them all about it.
Year 1 – Year 1 have been on an Autumn walk and have been writing sentences using adjectives to describe what they saw. They also started a study about trees and have been out and about around the school site. In Maths, the children have been working on 1 more and 1 less and 2 more and 2 less. Why don’t you test them out over the weekend?
We are also lucky to have three teacher trainees in class with us.
Year 2 – The children have been writing Autumn poems using similes and adverbs. They’ve also been working on their number bonds to 20. Please ask them to show you what they can do and help them to practice recall these quickly.
