General Reminders:
This week, Year R have really enjoyed learning to light their own fires (with careful supervision). They were absolutely amazing. They also enjoyed their first outdoor learning day and created a giant Jackson Pollock painting outside.
It has been lovely to see all the Year 1 children back at school! We did miss their smiley faces. This week Year 1 have been looking at number bonds to 5 and 10- ask them which ones they know. Year One have also started their new topic- The Wonderful World of Chocolate. This week we were chocolate tasting using all of our senses to help us write a poem next week. It was fantastic! We also had our first outdoor learning day of the year and although it was a bit chilly we thoroughly enjoyed making bird feeders, creating street art and making leaf man pictures.
Year 2 been really busy as usual but the highlight of their week was outdoor learning day where they made teddy zip wires (no teddies were hurt in the event), created Rangoli patterns and made art using leaves and twigs.
Also don’t forget to follow our Facebook page…we will try to share important events, dates and things that have happened in school……don’t forget to share with your friends and family!

General News and Information:
Please be advised that DFE guidance informs us that if a child displays any coronavirus symptom (cough, temperature or loss of taste/smell), we must send the child home and ask them to follow the guidance and get them a PCR test. The child must isolate until a negative result is given when they are able to return to school if they are well enough. If the result is positive they must isolate for 10 days.
Remember that LFD testing is for people who are asymptomatic. If anyone within your household develops symptoms, you must book at PCR test by either phoning 119 or booking online: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
HC3S are launching a new parent portal where they can register children needing special school dinner menus directly. This will give parents more control and direct contact with the catering team. You will then need to make an application online for your child to have a special menu and the school will be notified automatically. If you need to apply for a special menu, please see the information in Letters Home
If your child has a change or existing or new medical condition, please inform us by completing the form which is now available on our website: New or Change to Existing Medical Condition Form
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk
Have a lovely weekend. J
Take care and stay safe.
