Mailing for 5th March 2021
Last week, we shared our plans for the re-opening of school for all children on 8th March 2021. Thank you to those of you who completed the form outlining any concerns or comments that you have. We have included the Q&A in the mailing to reassure you further. We can’t wait to have all the children back in school and we are sure that you will be equally as pleased!!!
We know that some children (and their parents) will be a little anxious about coming back in on Monday. You will be met by staff and children who have been in school since the ‘lockdown’ in January that are used to the new routines around school. They will help everyone else returning. Mrs Rampton has kindly produced a ‘welcome back to school’ social story for you to share with your child. The staff have also made a video showing the children their classrooms to help them understand that things have not changed hugely in school. Year R will upload theirs to YouTube and a separate link will be sent to you. Year 1 and 2 will share theirs via Class DoJo.
Class emails will not be used by staff from Monday. Year 1 and 2 will post occasional updates on the DoJo so please keep your accounts open. We will trial the manageability of this and review at Easter. Please ensure that you inform us about appointments etc. by emailing parent.mail@hwis.hats.sch.uk
To our essential worker parents who are continuing to work at these difficult times - a HUGE THANK YOU!! To all those parents who are helping to keep our school community safe by keeping their children at home and home schooling them – thank you and WELL DONE!!
If you have been receiving the Free School Meal vouchers, please note that as it is compulsory for ALL children to be back in school from Monday 8th March, there will be no more vouchers sent out.
Please can we remind you that any new or changes to existing medical conditions must be reported to the school office so we can ensure our records and any medical action plans are kept up to date. We will be adding a form to the school website which must be completed if you need to inform us of a new or change to a medical condition – this is currently being put together and we will inform you once it is available.
Recently, the Government announced that adults in the household, child care or support bubble of children of primary age are eligible to partake in Lateral Flow Device Testing screening. You are able to collect 2 packs of home test kits at a local collection point. Each pack contains 7 tests. These should only be used by adults aged 18 years and over. Most collection points are open from 1.30 – 7pm. You can check online to see if the location is open or busy before you go. You do not need to make an appointment. It is important that you do not visit a collection point outside opening hours, as it may be used to test people with Coronavirus symptoms. Please see the link to locate your nearest collection point. https://find-covid-19-rapid-test-sites.maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk
