Welcome back to the start of the Summer Term. We hope you all had a wonderful break. We are looking forward to an exciting term ahead.
The children have started new topics this week and have been learning lots of new and exciting things:
Year R have been busy thinking about what a mini-beast is. As you can imagine, we had some very interesting and unusual answers.
Year 1 have been hot seating Jack and The Giant as well as planting ‘magic’ beans.
Year 2 have been exploring how things move and the impact of forces. They have also been exploring moving cars along ramps.
Please support… Fabrizia Ratto-Kelly and Alice McLaren are parents of children who have autism who attend HWIS. They are raising money for the National Autistic Society by doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. Please visit https://www.justgiving.com/team/Fabrizia-Alice to donate in whatever way you can. They would really appreciate your support.

The Government announced that adults in the household, child care or support bubble of children of primary age are eligible to partake in Lateral Flow Device Testing screening. You are able to collect 2 packs of home test kits at a local collection point. Each pack contains 7 tests. These should only be used by adults aged 18 years and over. Most collection points are open from 1.30 – 7pm. You can check online to see if the location is open or busy before you go. You do not need to make an appointment. It is important that you do not visit a collection point outside opening hours, as it may be used to test people with Coronavirus symptoms. Please see the link to locate your nearest collection point: Covid Test Collection Points
