Another busy week in school…
If you have any friends or family who have children due to start school in September 2021, please direct them to our website to book a virtual, online tour. There is also a short promotional video to be viewed – we feel it reflects our school environment and the sense of fun we approach learning with.
HC3S, our external catering company, would like some feedback to understand how Covid-19 has changed our school community’s access to food in the local area. Please click on the link to take part in their survey.
Year R – The children enjoyed their virtual coach trip around the playground to HWIS Milestones. They looked at lots of toy artefacts from the History Centre and were surprised at how things have changed over time. They also spent time dressing up in Victorian children clothing. It was all very different back then. Ask your child to tell you how ……
Year 1 – Year 1 have been describing a Christmas grotto setting using exciting adjectives. They have also been learning about North and South America. In Maths, the children have been using different models to work out their number bonds to 10. They can use part part whole and bar models. Ask them how to do it and see how things have changed since you were at school.
Year 2 – This week the children read part of The Rainbow Bear story, by Michael Morpurgo and have started to writing a diary entry from the perspective of Rainbow Bear. They also used chalks and pastels to create some beautiful Northern Lights art. In Maths, the children are learning about money and have been finding different ways to make the same amount and, in Science, they used their senses to complete fun experiments. They even got to taste jelly beans… for the purpose of their learning!
