Mailing for 1st April 2021
Another busy, busy week in school:
All children have thoroughly enjoyed taking part on the various Easter themed activities yesterday and the Outdoor Learning Day today.
In the continued national effort to limit the spread of the virus, as a school we are required to continue with contact tracing during the Easter holidays. If your child has been attending school and tests positive having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, please contact us at email@example.com so that we can follow our school procedures to identify close contacts and advise self- isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school. Where pupils or staff still attending school test positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) during the holidays, having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, we are not required to take any action. Please do still notify us though for our records. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Track and trace.
We have had several questions about testing. To be clear, Lateral Flow Testing Devices must only be used on asymptomatic members of your household. If anyone shows a high temperature, a new cough or loss of taste or smell they must book a PCR test.
Reminders for all children:
Basingstoke Sports – free sessions over Easter
Connect for families - free sessions over Easter
Year R, Year 1 and Year 2:
No individual mailing this week.
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via firstname.lastname@example.org
The Government announced that adults in the household, child care or support bubble of children of primary age are eligible to partake in Lateral Flow Device Testing screening. You are able to collect 2 packs of home test kits at a local collection point. Each pack contains 7 tests. These should only be used by adults aged 18 years and over. Most collection points are open from 1.30 – 7pm. You can check online to see if the location is open or busy before you go. You do not need to make an appointment. It is important that you do not visit a collection point outside opening hours, as it may be used to test people with Coronavirus symptoms. Please see the link to locate your nearest collection point. https://find-covid-19-rapid-test-sites.maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/
If your child has a change or existing or new medical condition, please inform us by completing the form which is now available on our website: New or Change to Existing Medical Condition Form
