Mailing for 18th June 2021
What a wet end to the week!!! Fingers crossed for a drier weekend.
The children have continued their new topics this week and have been learning lots of new and exciting things:
Year R have been practising for their first Sports day in school – there have been balls and hoops flying in lots of different directions… it can only get better!! It is a shame that parents cannot be here in person but the children will have an amazing time. Some footage will be available for viewing through our secure YouTube channel.
Year 1 have been exploring the Highway rat story by roleplaying and then generating thought bubbles and using speech bubbles.
Year 2 have started to learn about seaside’s in the past – they have found the differences really eye-opening. They have also been writing the build-up for their tunnel story. In Maths, they have done some more work on partitioning and adding two digit numbers – why not ask them to show you how we do things now – it’s very different to how we learnt.
As we have mentioned before, our Sports Day activities will be filmed and the video put on a secure, closed YouTube channel. It is a great way we can share the events with parents and family members who would normally come along and watch the children on the day. Only people with the link will be able to access the videos. We must have your consent to film your child during this event so please complete the form to give your consent. Those children who we do not receive consent for will still take part in the activities but will not be included in the videos. Remember – the footage will not be available to anyone without the link. Sports Day 2021 Filming and YouTube Consent (This form will close on Monday 28th June at 12.00pm)
We are looking at new classes and transition arrangements and have a current plan. The dates for this are listed on the diary dates below. At the moment, we are planning for new class visits to take place including a whole day for Year 2 to visit HWJS. These are all subject to change.
HC3S are launching a new parent portal where they can register children needing special school dinner menus directly. This will give parents more control and direct contact with the catering team. You will then need to make an application online for your child to have a special menu and the school will be notified automatically. More information on how to access the portal will be sent to all parents as soon as we have it.
our secure YouTube channel (only
accessible to those with the unique link) after the event.
02.09.21 – INSET day
03.09.21 – Small group visits to school – timings will be provided when the children can visit their new
Year 1 and 2 classrooms.

General News and Information:
On 10th July, Poppy in Hedgehog Class is having her cut and donating it to a charity called The Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer. Poppy has decided to do this herself which shows how kind and thoughtful she is. It costs £550 to make each wig with a fitting cost of £150. Poppy is aiming to raise £550 but it would be great to make it to £700 to pay for the complete process.

Remember that LFD testing is for people who are asymptomatic. If anyone within your household develops symptoms, you must book at PCR test by either phoning 119 or booking online: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test Your household must isolate until a negative result is received. Please let us know what is happening by emailing email@example.com
If your child is unwell (non Covid 19), please consider if they should be in school. We have had several children in who have been dosed up on Calpol that we have had to send home. We are concerned that these illnesses may pass to staff resulting in the ‘class bubble’ having to close. Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
Several parents have asked how they can make voluntary donations to school linked to their business or personal circumstances. There is an option to make a voluntary donation of up to £50 within School Money.
