Mailing for 13th November 2020
Another busy week in school…
We are very proud to say that on Wednesday 11th November, Mrs Hilton led an assembly which finished with a whole school 2 minute silence. The children were amazing, they were so respectful.
Today saw the school fund raising for Children in Need. They Year R’s also had Fab Funky Friday so they were dressed warmly and still completed some Pudsey tasks. The School Council decided that we would come to school dressed as a key worker. The different costumes and clothing choices were amazing. We had police, nurses, teachers, delivery drivers, mechanics, to name but a few. We will let you know next week how much we have raised.
If you have any friends or family who have children due to start school in September 2021, please direct them to our website to book a virtual, online tour. There is also a short promotional video to be viewed – we feel it reflects our school environment and the sense of fun we approach learning with.
Year R – The children have been looking at the materials their toys are made from and sketching them. We have some amazing artists in the making. A toy shop has been running and the children have been making their purchases using 1p and 2p coins. Why not ask them to count some pennies over the weekend.
Year 1 – The children have started to learn about the continents and have learnt a song to help them. Why not ask them to sing it to you? The first Christmas play rehearsal took place this week. Just wait until you hear the songs!!
Year 2 – Year 2 are really enjoying their new Arctic topic and have learnt lots of new facts about animal adaptation. The new Artic role play is up and running and the children are having so much fun fishing in the ice holes and sledging through the snow. In Maths the children have been learning about commutative and inverse operations. Why not ask them what that means?!
