Mailing for 12th March 2021
The children are all back in and we have been thrilled to see them. A big WELL DONE to them all for coming back and accepting the changes that we have had to make to keep them all as safe as possible. The staff have worked really hard this week to settle the children back in and also find out where they are with their learning, following the hard work many of you have done at home. We know that it was a challenge working at home as well as with your children but this has really paid off, so thank you!!
With all the children back in school, we are doing our best to hear them all read but this is proving tricky with the extended ‘drop off period’. As most children have been in school, safely by 9am, from Monday 15th March classroom doors will close at 9am as they did previously. Collection time will remain staggered between 3 – 3.15pm. Thank you for all adhering to the social distancing and arriving at different time intervals.
Please can we ask that if using a scooter or bike, these are pushed on the school site not ridden. We have a lot of young children accompanying their parent and we would hate for one of them to get hurt.
On Friday 19th March, we will be supporting Red Nose Day by having a non-uniform day. We ask that every child donates at least £1 to wear their own clothes next Friday. When you donate to Comic Relief, you are supporting people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and around the world. Please use the link to donate on our just giving page. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/hatch-warren-infant-school
Uniform Request: If you have any old, good condition uniform including PE kits, shoes, wellies, trainers and plimsolls, we are accepting donations for our second hand uniform shop. Items will be available for purchase in the online shop the week before the Easter holidays (29th March).
If your child has a change or existing or new medical condition, please inform us by completing the form which is now available on our website: New or Change to Existing Medical Condition Form
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk

The Government announced that adults in the household, child care or support bubble of children of primary age are eligible to partake in Lateral Flow Device Testing screening. You are able to collect 2 packs of home test kits at a local collection point. Each pack contains 7 tests. These should only be used by adults aged 18 years and over. Most collection points are open from 1.30 – 7pm. You can check online to see if the location is open or busy before you go. You do not need to make an appointment. It is important that you do not visit a collection point outside opening hours, as it may be used to test people with Coronavirus symptoms. Please see the link to locate your nearest collection point. https://find-covid-19-rapid-test-sites.maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/
It’s the weekend so enjoy some quality time together as a family and we’ll see you all on Monday. J
