Mailing for Week of 11th September 2020
Welcome back to the start of another year. We hope you have all enjoyed the summer sunshine and that you are all chilled and relaxed!
We are grateful for your support and understanding over the last few months. Life is not the same in school but we are trying to put some sort of normality and routine back in for the children. We are asking adults to wear face coverings as soon as they are on site as anyone could be asymptomatic and not know that they are carrying the Covid 19 virus. This makes them a potential risk to others. We are trying our best to keep our families, staff and children as safe as we can. Persistent offenders of not wearing a face covering may have to make alternative arrangements for dropping off and collecting their children. We know that some adults are exempt from wearing face coverings due to medical reasons and appreciate that it may be difficult on the playground. We ask that other adults are mindful of this.
If we were to have another school or ‘bubble’ closure, we need to look at the learning we ask you to complete at home. In order for us to find the best way of doing this, we would ask the Year 1 and 2 parents only, to complete the following online form to help us with our future learning options for your children should we find ourselves in a similar position to the one before the Summer holidays. The link can be accessed from Remote Learning Questionnaire Your views will help us, so we would encourage you to complete by the 25th September.
The Year R children started school this week doing their visits and they have been having fun learning new routines and making new friends. They are settling into their new classes and getting to know their new classteachers and classroom assistants.
The children across Year 1 and 2 are also settling into their new classes and finding their way about. Our focus for this week has been on the children’s well being and re establishing friendships. From next week we will give you a little update as to what each year group have been getting up to as part of the weekly Friday mailing.
