We were desperately sorry to have had to close the ‘Year R bubble’ last night at short notice but sadly a member of the ‘bubble’ received a positive Covid-19 test result. We wish them a speedy recovery. We are also very sorry that the children will miss out on the last week of activities in school. The Year R team have sent them a separate letter outlining their plans including links to the pantomime and class Zoom meetings.
Diary dates for next week

We are hoping to start some internal after school clubs after Christmas for Year 1 and 2. A form will be sent early next week for you to register your child’s interest. Names will be drawn out of a hat to be fair as we are expecting a high interest. Year 1 are hoping to run a weekly book and gardening club. Year 2 are hoping to run a weekly art club.
Year R – The children’s marbled Christmas ornaments are available to purchase from the shop for £2.50. They will look beautiful on your Christmas tree.
A fun filled festive week with lots of Christmas activities including making table decorations, puff painted Christmas cards, sorting decorations into sets and making repeated pattern candy canes. The Christmas Nativities have all finally been recorded. The children have been amazing. We will of course send you the link to the secure YouTube channel when they are uploaded. The recordings will bring some Christmas spirit to you as well as making you smile. Well done to everyone for the hard work that has gone into these.
Year 1 – The children are making Christmas plates and a stocking hanger for you to purchase for £5 through our shop. They will certainly add some festive cheer to your house.
Strangely some rather naughty elves have been making a nuisance of themselves in the classroom. Their behaviour has been outrageous! Why not ask your child what chaos they have caused? The Christmas nativities have all finally been recorded. The children have been amazing. We will of course send you the link to the secure YouTube channel when they are uploaded. The recordings will bring some Christmas spirit to you as well as making you smile. Well done to everyone for the hard work that has gone into these.
Year 1 have also squeezed in time for some work looking at the properties of 3D shapes and hunting for them in the classroom.
Year 2 – The children have now finished their clocks which are ready to purchase for £5 through the shop. The clocks come with a battery so are fully functioning and you will receive the clock that your child made. Maybe you could use them to help your child learn to tell the time?
This week Year 2 children wrote their own Lost and Found story based on Oliver Jeffers’ book. Our penguin visitors are still with us and have settled well into school life. We’ve made our own penguin sculptures out of clay and have also used our sewing skills to make penguin tree decorations. We hope these will be lovely keepsakes for the children and will remind them of their Poles Apart topic.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Have a lovely weekend.
Take care and stay safe.
