Mailing for 10th September 2021
What a busy week! The new Year R children started school this week with half day visits and they have been having fun learning new routines and making new friends. They are settling into their new classes and getting to know their new class teachers and classroom assistants.
The children across Year 1 and 2 are also settling well into their new classes and finding their way about. Our focus for this week has been on the children’s wellbeing and re-establishing friendships. From next week we will give you a little update as to what each year group have been getting up to as part of the weekly Friday mailing.
Hopefully the Q&A document we sent yesterday has helped to clarify our current risk assessment and restrictions in place in line with Government guidance.
We hope the Year 1 and 2 parents found the year group presentations useful. Notes from the presentations are attached to the weekly mailing.
Mrs Thomas is leaving the School Office and is currently working some hours to help us until we are able to recruit someone new. We will try to answer the phones and emails as soon as we can - sorry for any delays.
Also don’t forget to follow our Facebook page…we will try to share important events, dates and things that have happened in school……don’t forget to share with your friends and family!

General News and Information:
Please be advised that DFE guidance informs us that if a child displays any coronavirus symptom (cough, temperature or loss of taste/smell), we must send the child home and ask them to follow the guidance as per this link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection
Remember that LFD testing is for people who are asymptomatic. If anyone within your household develops symptoms, you must book at PCR test by either phoning 119 or booking online: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
HC3S are launching a new parent portal where they can register children needing special school dinner menus directly. This will give parents more control and direct contact with the catering team. You will then need to make an application online for your child to have a special menu and the school will be notified automatically. If you need to apply for a special menu, please see the information in Letters Home
If your child has a change or existing or new medical condition, please inform us by completing the form which is now available on our website: New or Change to Existing Medical Condition Form
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk
Have a lovely weekend.
Take care and stay safe.
