Christmas has definitely arrived at HWIS!!!!
We have received notification that after Christmas, HC3S are only able to provide the red or green meals due to shortages with provisions. The blue, jacket potato, option will be unavailable. We are unsure how long this will be for.

Year R are pleased to announce that they have now recorded their Christmas ‘ditties’. The link to these will be sent out next week. They have been busy creating lots of Christmas crafts. The highlight of the week has been ‘looking under the flaps’ and trying to identify their class mates by looking at baby photo’s. Some were definitely easier to identify than others.
The mischievous Christmas Elf continues to cause chaos in Year 1 classrooms! The children have created some amazing writing about his cheeky behaviour. In maths the children working with money. They have also been creative in making Christmas crafts. The concept word of the week is some.
Year 2 were very happy to see that our penguin visitors were still here when we returned to school on Monday. We have had lots of fun writing a story based on Oliver Jeffers’ book ‘Lost and Found’, we made our own penguins out of clay and have even sewn our very own penguin Christmas tree decorations. We can’t wait to bring them home to show you!

General News and Information:
Please be advised that DFE guidance informs us that if a child displays any coronavirus symptom (cough, temperature or loss of taste/smell), we must send the child home and ask them to follow the guidance and get them a PCR test. The child must isolate until a negative result is given when they are able to return to school if they are well enough. If the result is positive they must isolate for 10 days.
Remember that LFD testing is for people who are asymptomatic. If anyone within your household develops symptoms, you must book at PCR test by either phoning 119 or booking online: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
HC3S have launched a new parent portal where they can register children needing special school dinner menus directly. This will give parents more control and direct contact with the catering team. You will then need to make an application online for your child to have a special menu and the school will be notified automatically. If you need to apply for a special menu, please see the information in Letters Home
If your child has a change or existing or new medical condition, please inform us by completing the form which is now available on our website: New or Change to Existing Medical Condition Form
We continue to put our children, their parents and our staff at the centre of any decision making to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can at this continued tricky time. If you have any feedback as to how this week has been, please let us know via parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk
Have a lovely weekend. J
Take care and stay safe.
