HWIS Choir

We love to sing at Hatch Warren Infants and we have a wonderful choir that enjoys representing our school at different events and venues.

Singing and performing can help to mark special events and our committed choir are always enthusiastic to help celebrate different occasions.

Our School Choir had the wonderful opportunity to perform live on stage at the local Anvil Theatre in the Basingstoke Variety Show. This performance was a collaboration of different performances and artists who came together to showcase the talent we have locally in our town.

We were also very proud when our children were invited to sing and entertain guests at the Mayor’s VE Day 80th Anniversary Commemorative Service. The children sang a beautiful rendition of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ and took great pride in being a part of such an important event.

As a school, we have a lovely relationship with the local retirement home Oakley Lodge. Our choir visited the residents one evening in December to perform a set of classic Christmas songs. The evening brought together the youngest and oldest in our society to sing together and truly get into the spirit for Christmas.

We are looking forward to joining other school choirs in the upcoming Basingstoke Schools Singing Festival. Our children have been working hard and have dedicated themselves to learning songs that have been especially made for this event and we know they will put on a fantastic performance.

Singing can be heartfelt and joyful, and our school choir are a brilliant group of children who can spread these feelings of joy through their fantastic performances.

Working together

Supporting the Community and Fundraising

As well as continually seeking ways in which the community can support us, we are also looking for ways in which we can support the local, wider and global communities. We are also developing community links through the wider work of the school and the children’s school council. If you have any other suggestions about how we can work more closely with communities, or are a community looking to work with us, we would love to hear from you. Please email us at parent.mail@hwis.hants.sch.uk

Featured below are some examples of our work over the past few years – please take a look!
