The final day of the Autumn first half term has been completed … where has that seven and a half weeks gone?!? The children were amazing in how quickly they settled into school life in September and they have continued to work hard.  It is time for them (and the staff) to have a well-deserved week off.

I want to give a huge THANK YOU to the staff who worked hard and danced tirelessly at the SPOOKY disco last night. The children behaved impeccably and had a lovely time, as did the adults.  I must confess to joining in with the boys with some break dancing!!

The Year R ‘stay and play’ and Year 1 ‘Titanic berth making event’ were well attended by grown-ups ranging from parents, aunties, cousins and Grandparents. Everyone had an amazing time – thank you so much for your support.  The Titanic has been recreated in the Year 1 shared area for all to enjoy. Several parents on my new parent tour commented on how nice an event it must have been based on the display outcome.

We received 11 shoeboxes to support the Rotary Club providing Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children in Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Ukraine. Thank you to the parents and children who supported this appeal.

The new menu is due to start after half term and can be found at the bottom of our school website in the right hand box (it is included in this email) – www.hwis.hants.sch.uk.

Please ensure you walk around the car park using the footpath as we have had some more near misses with children almost being hit as they have been crossing it.

We have several extreme allergies in school. Please do not put peas, shellfish or anything containing nuts into the children’s packed lunches.

If you have family or friends with children looking to start school in September 2027, please direct them to one of our posters or to the website for information about booking a tour of the school with myself or one of my Senior Leaders.

Finally, I hope you all have a lovely, fun filled half term and we look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday 2nd November.
