OFSTED

This week has been crazily busy. Thank you for the parents that shared their views on school with the OFSTED inspectors. There were some incredibly kind and heart-warming messages. We are awaiting the judgements to be quality assured and hope to be able to share the outcome with you just after half term. The children and staff were as amazing as they always are. It was a pleasure to show the inspectors how our unique school operates.

Food in school

Please remember that we are a nut, shellfish and pea free school due to some children having complex allergies. Please ensure that the food you provide in lunchboxes does not contain this items. This includes some chocolate spread which is made from nuts. Playtime snacks must only be bread sticks, fruit or vegetables. We are seeing a whole variety of other things coming in but we are a healthy school and remain clear on what can be used as a snack item. Staff will speak to you if they see other items that are not appropriate.

School Councillors

A big thank you to all the children who put themselves forward to become part of the school council. The voting has now taken place in Year 1 and Year 2. A big congratulations to our elected members; Effie and Calum from Squirrel Class, Zack and Olivia from Fox Class, Loki and Delilah from Otter Class, Anna and Elsie from Badger Class, Barnaby and Finnley from Owl Class and Alyssa and Jamie from Hedgehog Class. Their first meeting will be on Monday 28^th September. We look forward to hearing all their ideas to make our school an even better place to be!

School census day

On Thursday 1^st October we have our school census. A significant proportion of our school funding is dependent on how many school dinners we have on this day. We have changed the menu to reflect our most popular meals of pizza and fish and chips. Please could you help us by encouraging your child to select one of these options (or a jacket potato or ham wrap) on Thursday, so that we have a high uptake. If need be, you can also provide a packed lunch so that if they try a school dinner but are not keen, they have another option. School funding is such a challenge for us in school, we would appreciate your support with this! On Friday 2nd October the menu will be spaghetti bolognaise, bean burger, jacket potato or cheese wrap.

Openbox

Year 1 have the Openbox theatre company coming to visit in a few weeks. Please can I ask any parents that have not yet made payment for this activity day to do so through the Arbor APP. The children will have an amazing day as Kenn will really energise the Titanic topic they have been learning about.
